Fast & Furious: Supercharged at Universal Studios Florida Closing Permanently on August 16

The controversial attraction will welcome its final riders next month as Universal prepares for the future of the Fast & Furious franchise.

Fast & Furious: Supercharged at Universal Studios Florida is officially closing for good, with its final day of operation set for August 16, 2026. The attraction’s closure comes about a year earlier than previously expected, giving fans just over a month to experience the ride one last time.

Originally opening in 2018, Fast & Furious: Supercharged replaced both Disaster! and the Beetlejuice stage show in the park’s San Francisco area. While Universal hoped the motion simulator attraction would bring the blockbuster film franchise to life, it quickly became one of the resort’s most criticized rides, with many guests disappointed by its reliance on screens and party bus ride system.

The closure follows Universal’s announcement of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a new outdoor roller coaster currently under construction at Universal Studios Florida and scheduled to open in 2027. While the coaster is being built elsewhere in the park, Universal has decided to retire Supercharged rather than operate two major Fast & Furious attractions simultaneously.

Universal has not yet announced what will replace Fast & Furious: Supercharged once it closes. For now, guests have until August 16 to take one last ride before the attraction permanently accelerates into the history books.
