Peacock Is Making Four Fast & Furious Television Series

Peacock is developing four Fast & Furious television series, Vin Diesel announced at NBCUniversal's upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The move brings the car racing franchise into television for the first time after over two decades as a theatrical property.

Diesel told the advertisers in attendance that fans have spent the last decade asking for more from the franchise. They wanted the legacy characters and their stories expanded beyond what the films could deliver.

The desire to enter the TV space has been on the table for a decade, according to Diesel. Now it's finally happening with four separate shows launching on Peacock.

Four Shows from the Fast and Furious Universe

Diesel did not reveal titles, premiere dates, or which characters the four series would focus on during the upfront announcement. The Fast & Furious franchise has built up a massive roster of legacy characters across its theatrical run, giving Peacock plenty of options for standalone series.

The announcement came during NBCUniversal's upfront, where networks and streaming services present their upcoming slate to advertisers. Diesel's appearance and the four series reveal positioned Fast & Furious as a major pillar of Peacock's content strategy moving forward.

Expanding the franchise into television allows for longer form storytelling and deeper character development than the theatrical films can provide. Four separate series also suggests Peacock plans to explore different corners of the Fast & Furious universe simultaneously rather than concentrating on a single storyline.
