Disneyland Closures This Fall: Indiana Jones Is Still Down, the Teacups Return October 16 and More
Here's every Disneyland ride and show that's closed or running a reduced schedule this October and November, from Indiana Jones Adventure to Fantasmic's dark nights, and how to plan around them.

Fall is refurbishment season at Disneyland, and this year a few big names are in the middle of it. Indiana Jones Adventure has been closed since early September with no return date, small world is about to go down for its holiday makeover, and several shows and Rivers of America attractions are running on a part time schedule.
There's good news too. The Mad Tea Party is coming back earlier than expected. Here's everything that's closed or limited at Disneyland Park right now, and what it means for your visit.
Indiana Jones Adventure
The big one. Indiana Jones Adventure in Adventureland closed for refurbishment on September 8, and Disneyland still hasn't announced a reopening date. Signs at the ride say it will return this fall, and the park's calendar doesn't list it with hours as far out as the calendar currently goes, which is around November 20.
Disney hasn't said what the work covers either. Indiana Jones is one of the hardest working rides in the park, with a complex vehicle system that bucks and turns through the temple, so it gets regular long maintenance periods. If it's a must do for your trip, check the app close to your visit and have a backup plan for Adventureland.
This isn't the first long break for Indy lately. The ride also went down for refurbishments in early 2025 and again in late 2025, so this is at least its third extended closure in under two years. Disney hasn't explained the pattern, but the ride is more than 30 years old and its vehicles take a beating every day.

Mad Tea Party returns October 16
The teacups closed on September 14, and when they went down Disneyland listed them as closed through October 26. That's now moved up. The Disneyland app shows the Mad Tea Party closed through October 15, with guests back on board the next day, October 16.
The work looks like a light refresh. Permits filed with the city of Anaheim before the closure showed plans for a new post with a prop and new lanterns to replace at least some of the ones hanging from the vines over the turntable. It's an opening day attraction from 1955, so the spinning cups have been through plenty of these.
it's a small world goes holiday
it's a small world closes on October 30 to be turned into it's a small world Holiday, and it's expected back around November 13, the first day of the resort's holiday season. When it returns, the facade will glow with about 400,000 lights and the clock gets its Santa hat.
If small world is on your list for late October or early November, plan for that two week gap. The holiday version runs through the season, so you'll get the seasonal version if you visit after mid November.

Fantasmic and the Rivers of America
Fantasmic isn't running every night in October. The show is dark on October 1, October 4 through 8, October 13 through 15, October 19 through 22 and October 26 through 29. A Halloween party ticket doesn't bring the show back on those dates, so plan your night around a show date if Fantasmic matters to you.

The Sailing Ship Columbia and Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes are also on a reduced October schedule, with dark days scattered through the first half of the month. Check the app the morning of your visit before you walk over to Frontierland.

Shows and meet and greets on part time schedules
Bluey's Best Day Ever! at the Fantasyland Theatre takes Tuesdays and Wednesdays off through October, so plan to catch it on another day if you have little ones who love the show. Pixie Hollow, the Tinker Bell meet and greet that just finished a 10 month refurbishment, is closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
None of these are breakdowns. They're scheduled days off that are normal for the slower fall season, but they're easy to miss if you don't check before you go.
The holidays start November 13
Most of the fall gaps close up once the holiday season begins on November 13. That's the first night of Believe... In Holiday Magic, the fireworks with snowfall over Main Street, and A Christmas Fantasy Parade returns too. Sleeping Beauty Castle becomes Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle each evening, and Main Street gets its 60 foot tree.
Over at Disney California Adventure, World of Color Season of Light returns the same day with scenes from Beauty and the Beast and Inside Out. If your trip can wait until mid November, you get the full holiday lineup and small world Holiday back in one visit.
Coming up at Disney California Adventure
Next door, Monsters, Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! is still open, but it's reported to close for good in early 2027 to make way for the Avatar land. If it's a family favorite, this fall and the holidays are a good time to ride it one more time.
How to plan around it
The Disneyland app is the best place to check closures the morning of your visit, since refurbishment dates move often, sometimes earlier like the Mad Tea Party and sometimes later. Disney's attraction pages update more slowly.
With Indiana Jones out, Adventureland's big draw is Jungle Cruise, and Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square will pick up a lot of the slack. Do those early or after dark. Our crowd calendar has day by day forecasts for Disneyland with real park hours, so you can pick the lightest days for the rides that are running.
