Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Is Coming to Netflix This August
After its theatrical run and streaming debut on Peacock, Blumhouse’s hit horror sequel is heading to Netflix next month.

Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has officially locked in its U.S. Netflix release date, giving fans another chance to experience the blockbuster horror sequel from home. The film will begin streaming on August 3, 2026, as part of Universal Pictures’ streaming agreement with Netflix.
The sequel premiered in theaters on December 5, 2025, continuing the story inspired by Scott Cawthon’s wildly successful video game franchise. After completing its theatrical run and streaming window on Peacock, the movie is now making its way to Netflix, where it will likely reach an even larger audience.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 follows Mike Schmidt as he once again finds himself pulled into the terrifying mystery surrounding Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. As the story unfolds, the deadly animatronics return alongside new secrets connected to the restaurant’s dark past, raising the stakes far beyond the events of the first film.
The original Five Nights at Freddy’s movie became one of Blumhouse’s biggest box office successes when it debuted in 2023, earning nearly $300 million worldwide despite opening simultaneously in theaters and on Peacock. Its success quickly led Universal and Blumhouse to move forward with a sequel.
Like its predecessor, the sequel continues blending supernatural horror with the franchise’s signature animatronic characters, including Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy.
