Midsummer Scream Announces Massive 30th Anniversary Celebration for Scream

The world’s largest Halloween and horror convention is partnering with Paramount Scares to bring the original cast, the voice of Ghostface, and legendary composer Marco Beltrami together for one unforgettable weekend.

One of horror’s most iconic franchises is getting the celebration it deserves.

Midsummer Scream has officially announced a massive weekend long event honoring the 30th anniversary of Wes Craven’s Scream, bringing together original cast members, legendary filmmakers, and the creative minds behind the beloved slasher franchise. In partnership with Paramount Scares, the celebration will take place during Midsummer Scream from August 7 through August 9 at the Long Beach Convention Center.

For horror fans, it may be one of the biggest Scream reunions ever assembled.

The Ultimate Woodsboro Reunion

Leading this year’s celebration is an impressive lineup of original Scream cast members.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet several of the film’s most recognizable survivors and killers through autograph sessions, selfies, and professional photo opportunities throughout the weekend.

Confirmed guests include:

* Matthew Lillard (Stu Macher) * Skeet Ulrich (Billy Loomis) * David Arquette (Dewey Riley) * Jamie Kennedy (Randy Meeks) * Lee Waddell, stunt performer * Joseph Whipp (Sheriff Burke)

Additional guests are expected to be announced closer to the event.

One of the weekend’s most unique experiences will feature Roger L. Jackson, the unmistakable voice behind Ghostface.

A limited number of guests will have the opportunity to purchase a private meet and greet with Jackson, where fans can even record personalized voicemail greetings and custom audio messages from the voice that has terrified audiences for three decades.

Bradley Video Comes to Life

Paramount Scares is also bringing one of Scream’s most memorable locations into the real world.

The convention floor will feature a recreation of Bradley Video, the fictional video rental store from Woodsboro.

The immersive experience invites guests to step back into 1996 while browsing shelves of horror classics alongside the team from FANGORIA, who will be recommending genre favorites and celebrating the films that inspired generations of horror fans.

The experience will also feature exclusive merchandise, giveaways, and themed Ghostface photo opportunities throughout the weekend.

Fans brave enough to ask one simple question…

“Do you like scary movies?”

…may find themselves walking away with more than just a photo.

Panels Every Horror Fan Should See

Beyond the celebrity appearances, Midsummer Scream has assembled a weekend of programming dedicated entirely to the legacy of Scream.

On Saturday, August 8, Matthew Lillard will host the official 30th Anniversary Scream Panel, bringing together special guests for behind the scenes stories, franchise memories, audience interaction, and discussions celebrating one of horror’s most influential films.

Then on Sunday, August 9, the spotlight shifts toward one of the franchise’s most overlooked strengths.

The Sound of Scream panel will explore how music, sound design, and Ghostface’s unforgettable voice helped define the series.

The discussion features:

* Marco Beltrami * Roger L. Jackson * Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills * Producer Marianne Maddalena * Music supervisor Ed Gerrard

Together, they’ll dive into the creative process behind one of horror’s most recognizable soundscapes.

A Collector’s Item for Fans

Attendees will also have the opportunity to pick up a convention exclusive edition of FANGORIA Magazine created specifically for Midsummer Scream.

The limited edition issue features an exclusive Ghostface cover along with retrospective articles, archival content, and features celebrating both the Scream franchise and this year’s anniversary event.

The special edition will only be available during Midsummer Scream, making it one of the convention’s most sought after collectibles.

Tickets Are Disappearing Quickly

If you’re planning on attending, waiting may not be the best strategy.

Midsummer Scream has already confirmed that both Weekend Passes and Gold Bat VIP Passes have completely sold out.

Single day admission remains available at the time of writing, although organizers say those tickets are also beginning to disappear quickly as the convention approaches.

Given the popularity of both Midsummer Scream and Scream’s milestone anniversary, additional sellouts are expected before opening day.

One of the Biggest Celebrations in Franchise History

Since its release in 1996, Scream has become one of the most influential horror films ever made.

Directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, the film reinvented the slasher genre by combining genuine suspense with self aware humor and unforgettable characters. The success of the original movie launched a franchise that now spans six films, television adaptations, novels, merchandise, and a dedicated global fanbase.

Thirty years later, Ghostface remains one of horror’s most recognizable icons.

That’s what makes this celebration feel so significant.

Rather than simply bringing together a few cast members for autograph sessions, Midsummer Scream is creating an event dedicated to every aspect of the franchise, from its actors and filmmakers to its music, voice acting, and horror legacy.

Combined with immersive experiences like Bradley Video and exclusive convention merchandise, it promises to be one of the largest Scream celebrations ever held.

For horror fans, it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest highlights of this year’s convention.

Midsummer Scream takes place August 7 through August 9, 2026, at the Long Beach Convention Center.
