Nikki from Obsession Joins Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood
The obsessed stalker from this year's horror hit will roam the event as a surprise Scareactor, creating Where's Waldo style encounters starting September 3rd.
Universal Studios Hollywood just added one more scareactor to Halloween Horror Nights 2026. Nikki from Obsession will roam the event, hunting for her next victim somewhere in the park.
Halloween Horror Nights creative director John Murdy announced the last minute addition at Midsummer Scream. He highlighted how late in the process they decided to work Obsession into the event but said they rallied the troops to make it happen.
Murdy described the experience as a Where's Waldo situation. Nikki's out there somewhere and she might be looking for her next obsession. Guests will need to keep their eyes open for surprise encounters throughout the night.
How Nikki Will Appear at the Event
The character will operate as a roaming scareactor rather than appearing in a dedicated house or scare zone. That means Nikki could show up anywhere during the event, creating unexpected moments for guests who know the film.
In Obsession, Nikki's friend Bear puts her under a spell to make her love him. Instead, she becomes horrifically obsessed with him, turning their relationship into a nightmare. Inde Navarrette portrays Nikki in the film.
The roaming scareactor approach fits the character perfectly. Nikki's obsessive stalking behavior from the movie translates naturally to randomly appearing throughout the park, hunting for someone new to fixate on.
Obsession's Journey to Horror Nights
Obsession premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025. The horror film received a wide theatrical release in May 2026, just a few months before Halloween Horror Nights begins.
The quick turnaround from theatrical release to theme park appearance explains why Murdy emphasized the late timing of the decision. Adding a new character to the event lineup just weeks before opening requires significant coordination, even for a roaming scareactor rather than a full haunted house.
Universal has not confirmed whether Nikki will also appear at Halloween Horror Nights in Universal Studios Florida. Murdy's announcement at Midsummer Scream focused specifically on the Hollywood event.
What Else Is Coming to Halloween Horror Nights
Nikki joins an already packed lineup for Halloween Horror Nights 2026 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Terror Tram starring Art the Clown takes over the backlot with Ice Nine Kills creating an original score based on twisted Christmas carols.
The fan favorite Killer Klowns From Outer Space haunted house returns this year. New original houses include KILLceañera: Music by SLASH, featuring an original score by the legendary guitarist including a new song titled 15 Candles, plus Dead, Deader, Deadest.
The Purge: Dangerous Waters brings the franchise's lawless chaos to the event. Previously announced houses inspired by Stranger Things, Sinners, Hellraiser, Evil Dead and Ozzy Osbourne round out the haunted house lineup.
Multiple scare zones will be scattered throughout Halloween Horror Nights. Guests will need to navigate around chainsaw killers in Hackerz and survive even more scares at Fortnitemares, an immersive scare zone based on Fortnite's signature in game event.
For the first time, Universal will offer an Unmasking the Horror Tour. The daytime experience gives guests a lights on look behind the scenes of select haunted houses, showing how the creative team builds the scares that come alive at night.
Halloween Horror Nights begins September 3rd and runs on select nights through November 1st at Universal Studios Hollywood. Adding Nikki as a roaming threat gives guests one more reason to watch their backs as they navigate the terror.
