Ozzy Osbourne Haunted House Coming to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando

The Prince of Darkness returns to Halloween Horror Nights with two different houses celebrating his solo career, opening August 28 in Orlando and September 3 in Hollywood.

Universal announced today that Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness will be a haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights 35 at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort. The houses serve as a tribute to the late heavy metal icon, who passed away in 2025 at age 76, and were created in collaboration with the Osbourne family.

The announcement comes just days after the first anniversary of Osbourne's death on July 22, 2025. He died just 17 days after performing one final time with Black Sabbath in his hometown of Birmingham, England.

The two parks will feature different takes on the Ozzy experience. Hollywood's version will transport guests to Birmingham, England, starting with his childhood and moving through the decades of his solo career from Madman Ozzy and Werewolf Ozzy to the Prince of Darkness. Orlando's house will take guests through ancient ruins and foreboding dungeons before boarding the Crazy Train for a twisted ride through realms inspired by album covers from Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, The Ultimate Sin, and Black Rain.

The Osbourne Family Gave Their Blessing

Sharon Osbourne and her son Jack Osbourne said Universal did an incredible job bringing Ozzy's spirit to life. In a statement, they said Ozzy never stopped pushing boundaries and loved anything that gave fans a new way to experience his music and the worlds he created.

Walking through these haunted houses, you'll recognize so many moments inspired by his music and imagination, they said. It's a wonderful tribute to Ozzy, and we hope fans have as much fun experiencing it as he would have had seeing it come together.

Sharon told Entertainment Weekly that his music throughout every room is at the heart of it all. Fans will also see scenes inspired by Ozzy's journey, from his early days as a little boy growing up in Birmingham, England, riding the train to and from London, to the iconic imagery and characters from across his career.

She also clarified that there will be no items from Ozzy's personal archive in the houses. Those are safely preserved under lock and key, she said.

Covering 45 Years of Solo Career

The houses will cover 45 years of Osbourne's solo career, drawing inspiration from all 13 of his solo albums. Music featured will include tracks from The Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, No More Tears, Scream, and Ordinary Man, with each house starting with Crazy Train.

This new haunted house is an opportunity to honor his extraordinary solo career, with guests journeying through the dark, surreal worlds that fueled his music and cemented his legacy as the one and only Prince of Darkness.

Mike Aiello, senior director of entertainment creative development at Universal Orlando Resort, said they were honored to collaborate with the Osbourne family to create a unique haunted house that celebrates Ozzy's legacy. It was important for us to create an authentic experience that brings Ozzy's creativity and personality to life in an eerily immersive new way. Fans will discover so many meaningful details, including a few Easter Eggs, as they navigate memorable dark and twisted moments inspired by his iconic musical career.

A Return to Universal

This isn't the first time Osbourne has been featured at Halloween Horror Nights. Ozzy and Black Sabbath previously approved a house at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2013 called Black Sabbath: 13-3D.

The new houses are described as a living horror movie and a non-traditional memorial to Osbourne. Sharon told Entertainment Weekly that Ozzy would absolutely love it and she's sure he's looking down smiling. He loved horror movies and Halloween, and used to joke that every day was Halloween in our house, so this couldn't be more fitting, she said.

Her grandchildren are counting down the days until they can visit, and the concept makes her incredibly happy and the family very proud.

When the Houses Open

Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness opens September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood and August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort as part of Halloween Horror Nights 35. The Orlando event runs through November 1.

Other confirmed houses for this year's event include Sinners, Stranger Things, Hellraiser, and Evil Dead Burn at Hollywood. Additional houses across both coasts include Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control, Cybergoria, Invasion Alien: Abduction, MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals, and H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular.
