Halloween Horror Nights 35 Announces New ‘Sideshow of Decay’ Scare Zone
Universal Orlando has revealed another original scare zone for Halloween Horror Nights 35, bringing a disturbing traveling sideshow filled with grotesque performers to the streets of Universal Studios Florida.
Universal Orlando has officially unveiled another original scare zone for Halloween Horror Nights 35, giving fans a new look at one of the terrifying street experiences awaiting them this fall.
The latest addition is Sideshow of Decay, a brand new scare zone that transforms part of Universal Studios Florida into a twisted carnival sideshow where the performers have become just as frightening as the attractions themselves. The announcement marks the second scare zone revealed for this year’s event following yesterday’s reveal of Infernal Carnival of Nightmares.

According to Universal, guests will wander through a decaying carnival where bizarre entertainers, grotesque acts, and unsettling spectacles blur the line between performance and nightmare. The newly released concept artwork features eerie circus tents, rusted carnival equipment, and disturbing performers lurking throughout the midway.
The announcement continues this year’s carnival inspired theme, which centers around Halloween Horror Nights icons Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow. Both characters are returning for the event’s 35th anniversary and are leading this year’s overarching story through the newly introduced Infernal Carnival of Nightmares theme.

While Infernal Carnival of Nightmares appears to serve as the event’s central hub, Sideshow of Decay expands that world by focusing on the carnival’s most disturbing performers. Universal has not revealed every character guests will encounter, but visitors can likely expect terrifying clowns, twisted sideshow acts, and roaming scareactors throughout the area.
Scare zones have become one of the defining experiences at Halloween Horror Nights, creating immersive environments that guests must walk through as they travel between haunted houses. Unlike traditional haunted attractions, there are no set paths or showtimes. Monsters roam freely, interacting with guests and keeping the experience unpredictable throughout the night.
This year’s event is already shaping up to be one of the biggest in Halloween Horror Nights history.
Universal has confirmed haunted houses including Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control, Sinners, Stranger Things 5, Cybergoria, Madlands: Caged Cannibals, and H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular, with additional houses, scare zones, entertainment, and experiences still waiting to be announced.
Construction is already well underway inside Universal Studios Florida, where lighting trusses, themed facades, and the first scare zone props have begun appearing throughout the park ahead of opening night.
Halloween Horror Nights 35 runs on select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026, at Universal Studios Florida.
With two scare zones now officially revealed, fans won’t have to wait much longer to see what other nightmares Universal has planned for its milestone 35th anniversary.
