Six Flags Magic Mountain Names 2027 Vekoma Coaster Thrill Glider
The first of its kind suspended motorbike coaster will feature five inversions, multiple launches, and a prone flying position when it opens next year.

Six Flags Magic Mountain revealed the name and details for its 2027 roller coaster today. Thrill Glider will be a first of its kind suspended motorbike coaster built by Vekoma, combining flying, motorbike, and suspended coaster technologies into an entirely new category the manufacturer calls a Thrillglider.
The coaster is now under construction near Looney Tunes Land on the site of the former Golden Bear Theater. Riders will board hovercycles and assume a prone, face forward position suspended beneath the track, combining the freedom of flight with the intensity of a multi launch thrill coaster.
Thrill Glider will stretch 3,380 feet long with multiple launches reaching a top speed of 50 mph. The ride will top out at 107 feet and pack an action filled 80 seconds of ride time into a dynamic aerial adventure spanning nearly 3.5 acres.
Layout and Ride Experience
The custom designed, terrain following layout encompasses 20 unique track elements. Riders will encounter 12 airtime moments as they traverse the course, with the ride delivering multiple launches and a dramatic station fly by.
Thrill Glider features five inversions: a wing over, zero g roll, overbanked stall turn, barrel roll, and upward barrel roll. The ride will be enhanced by synchronized onboard audio and immersive lighting effects, with every moment designed to amplify the sensation of speed, flight, and freedom.
The minimum height requirement is 48 inches to ride. The coaster will operate with two trains of sixteen passengers each.

Theme and Story
Riders are visiting The Futurist Pavilion, a showcase for QuantumPulse Propulsion Systems. The company has discovered a new energy source called PSR B417, and hexagonal collectors embedded into the hillside collect PSR B417 from distant pulsars.
Once launched, the power of PSR B417 will be felt firsthand as the vehicles soar above the landscape through sweeping maneuvers, sudden dives, and weightless moments that simulate piloting a high speed hovercycle powered by tomorrow's technology. Hexagonal design elements are incorporated throughout the ride experience.

Magic Mountain's Latest Innovation
Park President Brian Oerding positioned Thrill Glider as the latest milestone in Six Flags Magic Mountain's renaissance. He said Thrill Glider is more than a new attraction, calling it a reflection of the park's enduring role as an industry innovator.
Oerding noted that with a decades long reputation for introducing record breaking attractions and genre defining rides, Magic Mountain is uniquely positioned to pioneer an entirely new coaster category and bring Thrill Glider to life. The park markets itself as the Thrill Capital of the World and operates as one of Southern California's premier theme parks.
Vekoma developed Thrill Glider exclusively for Six Flags Magic Mountain. The same world renowned coaster manufacturer built Siren's Curse, which also opened at the park. The custom designed hovercycle vehicles feature a prone, face forward seating position that appears more accessible and with fewer moving parts than Vekoma's second generation flying coasters.
Thrill Glider opens in 2027 at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
